沖出繼從伯侍中景胤，小名查，父邵，小名梨。 Chong had been given in adoption to succeed his father's elder cousin Jingyin, Attendant Within; Jingyin's childhood name was Cha, and Jingyin's father Shao had the childhood name Li.

宋文帝戲景胤曰：「查何如梨。」 Emperor Wen of Song teased Jingyin, "How does Cha compare with Li?"

景胤答曰：「梨是百果之宗，查何敢及。」 Jingyin answered, "Li is the sovereign of all fruits—how could Cha presume to compare?"

張敷，字景胤，吳郡人，吳興太守邵子也。 Zhang Fu, courtesy name Jingyin, was from Wu commandery and the son of Shao, Governor of Wuxing.

父邵為湘州，去官侍從。 When his father Shao went to Xiang Province, Fu left his post to accompany him.

太祖未親政，政事悉委司馬張邵。 Before the prince took government into his own hands, he left all affairs to his adjutant Zhang Shao.

邵性豪，每行來常引夾轂，華出入乘牽車，從者不過二三以矯之。 Shao loved display and whenever he went abroad had paired carriages escort him. Hua, by contrast, went out in a hand-drawn cart with no more than two or three followers, deliberately playing the opposite part.

嘗於城內相逢，華陽不知是邵，謂左右：「此鹵簿甚盛，必是殿下出行。」 Once they met in the city. Hua pretended not to know it was Shao and told his attendants, "That procession is enormous—it must be the prince himself going out."

乃下牽車，立於道側，及邵至乃驚。 He stepped down from his cart and stood aside on the road; when Shao drew near, Hua was mortified.

邵白服登城，為華所糾，坐被徵，華代為司馬、南郡太守，行府州事。 Shao had gone up on the wall dressed in white mourning, and Hua denounced him for it; Shao was recalled and removed from office, and Hua took his place as chief clerk and governor of Nan Commandery, acting head of both headquarters and province.
