明宗翼獻景孝皇帝，諱和世㻋，武宗長子也。 Emperor Mingzong, posthumous name Yixian Jingxiao, taboo name Khoshila, was Wuzong's eldest son.

成宗大德三年，命武宗撫軍北邊，帝以四年十一月壬子生。 In the third year of Dade under Chengzong, Wuzong was ordered to command troops on the northern frontier; he was born on renzi day in the eleventh month of the fourth year.

成宗崩，十一年，武宗入繼大統，立仁宗為皇太子，命以次傳於帝。 Chengzong died; in the eleventh year, Wuzong entered to succeed to the Great Foundation, installed Renzong as crown prince, and ordered that succession pass to him in order.

武宗崩，仁宗立，延祐三年春，議建東宮，時丞相鐵木叠而欲固位取寵，乃議立英宗為皇太子，又與太后幸臣識烈門譖帝於兩宮，浸潤久之，其計遂行。 Wuzong died; Renzong ascended the throne; spring of the third year of Yanyou, when the Eastern Palace was under deliberation, Chancellor Tiemudie'er, wishing to secure his position and win favor, proposed installing Shidebala as crown prince; together with the empress dowager's favorite minister Shiliemen he slandered him before the two palaces; after long insinuation, the scheme succeeded.

是年冬十一月，帝次延安，禿忽魯、尚家奴、孛羅及武宗舊臣釐日、沙不丁、哈八兒禿等皆來會。 That year, eleventh month of winter, he halted at Yan'an; Tughluq, Shangjianu, Boluo, and Wuzong's old ministers Chiri, Shabuding, Qabarqu, and others all came to meet.

教化謀曰：「天下者，我武皇之天下也，出鎮之事，本非上意，由左右構間致然。 Jiaohua plotted, saying, "The realm is our Martial Emperor's realm; the matter of being sent out to garrison was originally not the Supreme One's intent — it came about because those at the ruler's side sowed discord.

八月甲午黎明，召百官集興聖宮，兵皆露刃，號於眾曰：「武皇有聖子二人，孝友仁文，天下歸心，大統所在，當迎立之，不從者死！」 Eighth month, on jiawu day at dawn, he summoned the hundred officials to assemble at Xingsheng Palace; the troops all bared their blades and proclaimed to the multitude, "The Martial Emperor had two sage sons — filial, brotherly, benevolent, and literary; all under Heaven turn their hearts to them; the Great Foundation lies with them — we must welcome and install them; whoever does not obey shall die!"

帝然其言，以武宗舊人哈八兒禿為中書平章政事，前中書平章政事伯帖木兒知樞密院事，常侍孛羅為御史大夫。 The Emperor approved his words and made Wuzong's old follower Qabarqu central secretariat grand councillor, former central secretariat grand councillor Bo Temür privy council administrator, and attendant Boluo censor-in-chief.

命有司新武宗幄殿、車輿。 Orders were issued to the relevant offices to renew Wuzong's tent palace and imperial carriages.
