乾寧初，王珂、王珙爭帥河中，珙引陝州之軍攻珂，珂求救於武皇，乃令嗣昭將兵援之，敗珙軍於猗氏，獲賊將李璠等。 Early in the Qianning era, Wang Ke and Wang Gong fought over command of Hezhong. Gong brought Shaan troops against Ke, who appealed to the Martial Emperor. Sizhao was sent to his aid, defeated Gong at Yishi, and captured the rebel general Li Fan and others.

及王珂請婚武皇，武皇以女妻之； When Wang Ke sought a marriage alliance with the Martial Emperor, the latter gave him his daughter in marriage;

珂赴禮於太原，以嗣昭權典河中留後事。 Ke traveled to Taiyuan for the wedding, and Sizhao was left in charge of Hezhong as acting military governor.

天復元年，河中王珂為汴人所擄，河中晉、絳諸郡皆陷。 In Tianfu 1, Wang Ke of Hezhong was captured by the Bian, and Jin, Jiang, and the other Hezhong commanderies all fell.

其年十二月，師還太原，王珂為浮梁於夏陽渡，襲吉從軍，時笮斷航破，武皇僅免，襲吉墜河，得大冰承足，沿流七八里，還岸而止，救之獲免。 That December, as the army marched back to Taiyuan, Wang Ke threw a pontoon bridge across the Xiayang ford and Xiji went with the column. The bridge cables snapped mid-crossing; the Martial Emperor barely escaped with his life. Xiji plunged into the river, caught a great slab of ice underfoot, and drifted seven or eight li downstream before he could claw his way ashore and be pulled out alive.
