樂部郎胡長命妻張氏，事姑王氏甚謹。 Lady Zhang, consort of Bureau of Music Gentleman Hu Changming, served her mother-in-law Lady Wang with scrupulous devotion.

太安中，京師禁酒，張以姑老且患，私為醞之，為有司所糾。 During the Tai'an era, wine was banned in the capital; because her mother-in-law was old and ill, Zhang brewed wine for her in secret and was reported by the authorities.

王氏詣曹自告曰：「老病須酒，在家私釀，王所為也。」 Lady Wang went to the authorities and confessed: "In my old age and illness I need wine; the brewing at home was my doing."

張氏曰：「姑老抱患，張主家事，姑不知釀，其罪在張。」 Lady Zhang said, "My mother-in-law is old and ill; I manage the household—she knew nothing of the brewing. The guilt is mine."
