宰臣豆盧革等三上表請聽政，從之。 Dou Luge and the chief ministers three times asked Mingzong to hold court; he agreed.

宰相豆盧革進位左僕射，韋說進位門下侍郎兼戶部尚書、監修國史，並依舊平章事。 Dou Luge became Left Vice Director; Wei Shuo became Gate Chamberlain, Revenue minister, and historiographer, both keeping Grand Councillor rank.

宰相豆盧革貶辰州刺史，韋說貶漵州刺史，仍令所在馳驛發遣，為諫議大夫蕭希甫疏奏故也。 Dou Lu Ge was demoted to Chen prefect and Wei Shuo to Xi—for Remonstrator Xiao Xifu's indictment—and both were ordered sent off at once.

製略曰：「革則縱田客以殺人，說則侵鄰家而奪井，選元亨之上第，改王參之本名。 An edict summarized: "Ge let tenants kill; Shuo seized a neighbor's well; they ranked Yuan Heng first and changed Wang Can's name.

庚辰，賜蕭希甫衣段二十匹、銀器五十兩，賞疏革、說之罪也。 On gengchen Xiao Xifu received twenty bolts of silk and fifty taels of silver—for exposing Ge and Shuo.

宰相鄭玨、任圜再見安重誨，求解革、說，請不復追行後命，又三上表救解，俱留中不報。 Zheng Jue and Ren Yuan again saw An Chonghui to free Ge and Shuo and stop the later orders; they memorialized three times—all held without reply.

癸未，詔辰州刺史豆盧革可責授費州司戶參軍，漵州刺史韋說可責授夷州司戶參軍，皆員外置同正員，仍令馳驛發遣。 On guiwei Dou Lu Ge of Chen was demoted to Fei registrar in exile and Wei Shuo of Xi to Yi registrar—extra-status equal to regular rank—and both sent off at once.

甲申，又詔曰：「責授費州司戶參軍豆盧革、夷州司戶參軍韋說等，自居台輔，累換歲華，負先皇倚注之恩，失大國燮調之理。 On jiashen another edict: "Dou Lu Ge of Fei and Wei Shuo of Yi, long at the councilor's bench, betrayed the late emperor's trust and failed the state's harmony.

革可陵州長流百姓，說可合州長流百姓，仍委逐處長知所在。 Ge was long exiled to Ling as commoner; Shuo to He as commoner; local authorities were to watch them.

升、濤即革、說之子也。 Sheng and Tao were Ge and Shuo's sons.

莊宗至汴州，宰相豆盧革在魏州，令崇韜權行中書事。 When Zhuangzong arrived at Bianzhou, Grand Counselor Doulu Ge remained at Weizhou, and Zhuangzong put Guo Chongtao in charge of Secretariat affairs on a provisional basis.

豆盧革雖憑門地，在本朝時，仕進尚微，久從使府，朝章典禮，未能深悉。 Doulu Ge, though he relied on his family's standing, had risen only modestly under the present dynasty and had long served in commissioner offices, so that he did not deeply understand court ritual and precedent.

光允每有發論，革但唯唯而已。 Whenever Guangyun launched into discussion, Ge could only murmur agreement.

後革奏議或當，光允謂群官曰：「昨有所議，前座一言粗當，近日差進，學者其可已乎！」 Later, when Ge's memorial opinions sometimes hit the mark, Guangyun told the assembled officials, "In yesterday's discussion the gentleman in the front row had one remark that was roughly correct. He has improved a little of late—must a student go on forever!"

初，豆盧革、韋說得罪，執政議命相，樞密使孔循意不欲河朔人居相位，任圜欲相李琪，而鄭玨素與琪不協，孔循亦惡琪，謂安重誨曰：「李琪非無藝學，但不廉耳。 When Doulu Ge and Wei Yue fell from power, the court debated a new chief minister. Kong Xun did not want a man from the region north of the Yellow River in the post. Ren Yuan favored Li Qi, but Zheng Jue had long been at odds with Qi and Kong Xun also disliked him. Kong told An Chonghui, "Li Qi is learned enough, but he is not honest.

及明宗即位，豆盧革、韋說得罪，任圜陳奏，請命琪為相，為孔循、鄭玨排沮，乃相崔協。 When Emperor Mingzong took the throne, Doulu Ge and Wei Yue were punished. Ren Yuan memorialized requesting that Qi be made chief minister, but Kong Xun and Zheng Jue obstructed the appointment, and Cui Xie was made chief minister instead.

初，莊宗欲以希甫知制誥，宰相豆盧革等附居翰，共排斥之，以為駕部郎中。 Zhuangzong had wanted to make him a drafter of edicts, but Chief Ministers Doulu Ge and others, siding with Zhang Juhan, blocked him and gave him only a post as director in the Transport Department.

天成初，欲召為諫議，豆盧革、韋說沮之。 Early in the Tiancheng era he was to be recalled as remonstrating censor, but Dou Luge and Wei Shuo blocked the appointment.

其後革、說為安重誨所惡，希甫希旨，誣奏革縱田客殺人，而說與鄰人爭井，井有寶貨。 When Luge and Shuo later fell afoul of An Chonghui, Xifu curried favor with false charges that Luge had let tenant farmers commit murder and that Shuo had fought a neighbor over a treasure-filled well.

有司推勘井中，惟破釜而已，革、說卒皆貶死。 Officials searched the well and found only a broken pot; Luge and Shuo were demoted and died in exile.

崇韜以為忠告，即奏憲為鄴都副留守，乃命宰臣豆盧革專判租庸。 Chongtao took this as sincere counsel, immediately memorialized Zhang Xian as deputy garrison commander of Ye, and ordered chief minister Dou Lüge to oversee taxation and corvée exclusively.

謙彌失望，乃尋革過失。 Qian was all the more disappointed and set about looking for Ge's faults.

時革以手書便省庫錢數十萬，謙以手書示崇韜，亦辭避。 At the time Ge had used a personal note to draw several hundred thousand from the treasury for convenience. Qian showed the note to Chongtao, who also declined the post.

謙乘間訴於豆盧革曰：「租庸錢穀，悉在眼前，委一小吏可辦。 Qian seized an opportunity to complain to Dou Lüge: "The revenues and grain of taxation and corvée are all right before one's eyes; a minor clerk could handle the task.

豆盧革言於崇韜，崇韜曰：「鄴都分司列職，皆主上舊人，委王正言何慮不辦？」 Dou Lüge spoke to Chongtao, who said, "All the branch offices and posts at Ye are the emperor's old associates; if Wang Zhengyan is entrusted with the task, why worry that he cannot manage it?"
