白不信、大刀敖、李喜喜陷興元，遂入鳳翔，屢為察罕帖木兒、李思齊所破，走入蜀。 Bai Buxin, Dadao Ao, and Li Xixi took Xingyuan and entered Fengxiang, but were repeatedly defeated by Chaghan Temür and Li Siqi and driven into Sichuan.

及察罕帖木兒數破賊，盡復關、隴，是年五月大發秦、晉之師會汴城下，屯杏花營，諸軍環城而壘。 After Chaghan Temür had repeatedly defeated the rebels and recovered Guanzhong and Longyou, in the fifth month of that year he massed Qin and Jin armies below Bianliang, encamped at Apricot Blossom Camp, and ringed the city with siege works.

福通計無所出，挾林兒從百騎開東門遁還安豐，後宮官屬子女及符璽印章寶貨盡沒於察罕。 Futong, at his wits' end, fled through the east gate with Lin'er and a hundred horsemen back to Anfeng; the harem, officials, children, seals, and treasures all fell to Chaghan.

而察罕既取汴梁，遂遣子擴廓討東平，脅降田豐、王士誠，乘勝定山東。 After Chaghan took Bianliang, he sent his son Köke Temür against Dongping, forced Tian Feng and Wang Shicheng to submit, and pacified Shandong in the wake of victory.

二十二年六月，豐、士誠乘閑刺殺察罕，入益都。 In the sixth month of year 22 (1362), Feng and Shicheng assassinated Chaghan when his guard was down and entered Yidu.

而察罕兵勢甚盛，遣使至金陵招太祖，故兌書於三者籌之為詳。 Meanwhile Chaghan Temür's armies were very strong and had sent envoys to Jinling to win the Founder over, so Ye's memorial weighed all three rivals in careful detail.

今之規模，宜北絕李察罕，南並張九四。 The design for today should be to break off relations with Chaghan Temür in the north and absorb Zhang Shicheng in the south.

藉其兵力資財，以攻則克，以守則固，百察罕能如吾何哉？ With its armies and wealth behind you, you will conquer when you attack and stand firm when you defend—what can even a hundred Chaghans do against us?

北略中原，李氏可並也。 When you campaign north into the Central Plain, Li's territory can be absorbed as well.

今聞察罕妄自尊大，致書明公，如曹操之招孫權。 I hear that Chaghan has grown arrogant and sent Your Excellency a letter like Cao Cao's invitation to Sun Quan.

竊以元運將終，人心不屬，而察罕欲效操所為，事勢不侔。 I believe the Yuan mandate is near its end and the people's hearts are no longer with it, yet Chaghan wishes to play Cao Cao's part—the situation does not match.

八月，命守石嶺關以北，察罕帖木兒守石嶺關以南。 In the eighth month he was ordered to hold the territory north of Shiling Pass while Chaghan Timur held the south.

察罕帖木兒遣鎖住、陳秉直以兵來爭，孛羅帖木兒部將脫列伯戰敗之。 Chaghan Timur sent Suozhu and Chen Bingzhi to contest the place, but Boluo Timur's general Teliebo defeated them.

擴廓帖木兒自其父察罕帖木兒在時，與孛羅帖木兒連年相讎殺，朝廷累命官講和，二軍已還兵，各守其地。 Ever since his father Chaghan Timur's day, Köke Timur and Boluo Timur had been locked in a feud of mutual slaughter. The court had repeatedly sent mediators, and both armies had withdrawn to their own territories.
