盎兄子種為常侍騎，諫盎曰：「君眾辱之，後雖惡君，上不覆信。」 His nephew Zhong, a household cavalry attendant, warned him: "Humiliate him before the court and, however much he hates you afterward, the Son of Heaven will not give him the same credence."

辭行，種謂盎曰：「吳王驕日久，國多奸，今絲欲刻治，彼不上書告君，則利劍刺君矣。 As he set out, Zhong warned him: "The king of Wu has been proud a long time; his domain crawls with villains. If you try to rule him with a tight rein, he will denounce you to the throne or put a blade in your ribs.

盎用種之計，吳王厚遇盎。 Yuan Ang followed the advice, and the king of Wu showered him with hospitality.
