戊戌，以荊州刺史嶷爲尚書令、驃騎大將軍、開府儀同三司、揚州刺史，冠軍將軍映爲荊州刺史，西中郎將晃爲南徐州刺史，冠軍將軍垣崇祖爲豫州刺史，驃騎司馬崔文仲爲徐州刺史。 Day wuxu: Yi, inspector of Jing, became director of the master of writing, general-in-chief who spreads might, with secretariat equal to the three excellencies, and inspector of Yang; Ying, champion general, inspector of Jing; Huang, west general of the gentlemen, inspector of South Xuzhou; Yuan Chongzu, champion general, inspector of Yu; Cui Wenzong, chief commandant under the general who spreads might, inspector of Xu.

二月丁卯，虜寇壽陽，豫州刺史垣崇祖破走之。 Second month, day dingmao: the northerners struck Shouyang; Yuan Chongzu, inspector of Yuzhou, broke them and put them to flight.

垣崇祖旣破虜，上欲罷併二豫，敕世隆曰：「比思江西蕭索，二豫兩辦爲難。 After Huan Chongzu had routed the enemy, the emperor wished to fold the two Yu provinces into one. He told Shilong: "The lands west of the Yangtze have grown thin; to run both Yu provinces at once is hard.

近又令垣豫州斷其州內，商得崇祖啓事，已行竟，近無云云，殊稱前代舊意。 We have also ordered Huan Chongzu, as Governor of Yu, to do the same within his province; his memorial, when consulted, shows the work finished and no fresh trouble—very much the old policy done right.

伯玉憂懼無計，上聞之，以其與垣崇祖善，慮相扇爲亂，加意撫之，伯玉乃安。 Boyu was trapped in fear. The throne heard of it; knowing his tie to Yuan Chongzu, he feared the two would rouse each other to revolt and soothed him with special care—only then did Boyu grow calm.

永明元年，垣崇祖誅，伯玉并伏法。 In Yongming's first year Yuan Chongzu was killed, and Boyu died by the same sentence.
