己酉，周將楊忠帥突厥阿史那木汗等二十餘萬人自恒州分為三道，殺掠吏人。 On the jiyou day, the Northern Zhou general Yang Zhong led more than two hundred thousand men, including the Turk Ashina Muhan, from Heng Province in three columns, killing and plundering officials and commoners.

西魏安州刺史馬岫聞之，報于西魏，西魏遣大將軍楊忠、儀同侯幾通率衆赴焉。 Ma Xiu, regional inspector of Anzhou under Western Wei, heard of this and reported to his court. Western Wei sent Grand General Yang Zhong and Yitong Hou Jitong with an army to intervene.

二年二月，忠等至于汝南，綸嬰城自守。 In the second month of 551, Yang Zhong and his force reached Runan. Xiao Lun shut the gates and held the city.

會天寒大雪，忠等攻不能克，死者甚衆。 Bitter cold and heavy snow set in; Yang Zhong could not storm the city, and his losses were very heavy.

忠等執綸，綸不爲屈，遂害之。 Yang Zhong seized Xiao Lun. He refused to yield and was put to death.

三月甲午，齊北豫州刺史司馬消難舉州來附，遣柱國、高陽公達奚武與大將軍楊忠率衆迎之。 Third month, on jiawu day, Northern Qi's governor of North Yu Province, Sima Xiaonan, surrendered the province; the court sent Pillar-of-State Daxi Wu, Duke of Gaoyang, and Grand General Yang Zhong with troops to receive him.
