蘇州刺史韋夏卿薦之朝，並表其書，報聞，不召。 Prefect Wei Xiaqing of Suzhou recommended him to the throne and submitted his books together with the recommendation; the court took note but did not call him in.

後夏卿入為京兆尹，復言之德宗，擢為左拾遺。 When Xiaqing later became metropolitan magistrate of Jingzhao, he spoke for him again to Dezong, who appointed him Left Reminder.
