遠祖沒諾幹，唐至德中，事鎮州節度使王武俊為騎將。 His distant ancestor Mo Nuogan served as a cavalry commander under Wang Wujun, military governor of Zhenzhou, during the Zhide reign of Tang.

武俊嘉其勇幹，畜為假子，號王五哥，其後子孫以王為氏。 Wujun admired his courage and competence, took him as an adoptive son, and called him Fifth Brother Wang; his descendants thereafter adopted Wang as their clan surname.

稅法既行，民力未及寬，而朱滔、王武俊、田悅合從而叛，用益不給，而借商之令出。 The new tax law had barely taken effect and the people had not yet felt relief when Zhu Tao, Wang Wujun, and Tian Yue rebelled together. Revenue fell short, and the court ordered loans from merchants.

會硃滔、王武俊反，救悅，抱真退保魏。 When Zhu Tao and Wang Wujun rebelled to rescue Yue, Baozhen fell back to defend Wei.

抱真乃遣客賈林以大義說武俊，使合從擊滔，武俊許諾，而內猶豫。 Baozhen sent his retainer Jia Lin to persuade Wang Wujun on grounds of loyalty to join against Zhu Tao. Wujun agreed outwardly but remained undecided within.

抱真將自造其壁，諉軍事于司馬盧玄卿曰：「吾此行，系時安危，使遂不還，部勒以聽天子命，惟子； Baozhen resolved to visit Wujun in person. He entrusted military affairs to his marshal Lu Xuanqing, saying, "This journey bears on the fate of the realm. If I do not return, hold the army to the emperor's command—that is yours alone;

即以數騎馳入見武俊，曰：「泚、希烈爭竊帝號，滔攻貝州，此其志皆欲自肆於天下。 He rode in with only a few horsemen to see Wujun. "Ci and Xilie vie for the throne, and Tao attacks Beizhou—they all mean to rule the empire for themselves.

因持武俊，涕下交頤，武俊亦感泣，左右皆泣。 He seized Wang Wujun's hands, tears streaming down his face. Wujun wept as well, and all present wept with them.
