是冬，口溫不花等圍光州，命張柔、鞏彥暉、史天澤攻下之，遂別攻蘄州，降隨州，略地至黃州，宋懼請和，乃還。 That winter Köten Buqa and others invested Guang Prefecture. Zhang Rou, Gong Yanhui, and Shi Tianze were ordered to storm it, then struck Qi Prefecture, accepted the surrender of Suizhou, and raided as far as Huang Prefecture. Frightened, the Song sued for peace, and the army withdrew.

丞相史天澤入啟事，王曰：「我幼，未嘗習祖宗典則，閑於政體，一旦當大任，惟汝耆德賴焉。」 When Grand Councilor Shi Tianze came in to report affairs, the prince said, "I am young, have never studied our ancestral regulations, and know little of government. To be given such a great responsibility all at once, I must rely on your seasoned wisdom."

忒末父子夜踰城而出，將以聞，會天倪弟天澤還自北京，遇諸滿城，合蒙古諸軍南與賊戰，走武仙，復真定。 Temei and his son slipped over the wall by night to bring word of the revolt. Tianni's brother Tianze was returning from Beijing, met them at Mancheng, united the Mongol forces, drove south against the rebels, routed Wu Xian, and retook Zhending.

朝廷以天澤襲兄爵，而以天祐鎮趙州。 The court had Tianze succeed to his brother's rank and posted Tianyou as garrison commander at Zhao Prefecture.

明年，仙復犯真定，天澤潛師出藁城，忒末與其妻石抹氏，及家孥在真定者，皆陷焉。 The following year Wu Xian attacked Zhending again. Tianze marched secretly from Gaocheng, and Temei, his wife Lady Shimota, and every member of their household in the city were taken prisoner.

天祐慟哭承命，馳至藁城，以賊書示天澤。 Tianyou wept as he accepted his father's charge, rode hard to Gaocheng, and showed Wu Xian's letter to Tianze.

天澤曰：「王陵之事，照耀史冊，汝能遵父命，忠誠許國，功不在王陵下。」 Tianze said: "Wang Ling's deed shines in the histories. If you obey your father's command and devote yourself loyally to the state, your achievement will not fall short of his."

丁亥，賊棄城走，追至藁城，會天澤兵夾擊，殺林。 In the dinghai year the rebels abandoned the city and fled. Pursued to Gaocheng, they were caught in a pincer by Tianze's troops and Zhang Lin was killed.

世祖在潛邸聞其名，命史天澤召至和林，賜對稱旨，留居宮邸。 Kublai, while still at his princely residence, heard of him and ordered Shi Tianze to summon him to Helin. An audience found his words pleasing, and he was retained at the palace.
