庚申，重元亡入大漠，自殺。 On gengshen day Chongyuan fled into the great desert and killed himself.

耶律良密告重元變，命籍橫帳夷離堇房，為漢人行宮都部署。 Yelü Liang had secretly reported Chongyuan's plot; the horizontal-account yilijin houses were ordered registered; he was made Han mobile palace deployment director.

癸亥，貼不訴為重元等所脅，詔削爵為民，流鎮州。 On guihai day Tiebu pleaded that he had been coerced by Chongyuan and the others; an edict stripped his rank and made him a commoner, exiled to Zhen Prefecture.

三年，后陰召諸弟議，欲立少子重元。 In year 3 the dowager secretly called her younger brothers to plot enthroning her younger son Chongyuan.

重元以所謀白帝，帝收太后符璽，遷於慶州七括宮。 Chongyuan disclosed the plot to the emperor, who seized the dowager's seals and confined her at Qikuo Palace in Qingzhou.

九年秋，敦睦宮使耶律良以重元與其子涅魯古反狀密告太后，乃言於帝。 In the autumn of year 9, Commissioner of the Dunmu Palace Yelu Liang secretly informed the empress dowager of Chongyuan's rebellion and that of his son Nielugu, then reported it to the emperor.

嘗夢重元曰：「臣骨在太子山北，不勝寒栗。」 Once she dreamed that Chongyuan said, "My bones lie north of Prince Mountain and cannot bear the cold."

九年七月，上獵太子山，耶律良奏重元謀逆，帝召仁先語之。 In the seventh month of the ninth year, while the emperor was hunting at Mount Taizi, Yelu Liang reported that Chongyuan was plotting rebellion. The emperor summoned Renxian and told him of it.

未及介馬，重元犯帷宮。 Before he could even mount his horse, Chongyuan struck at the curtained imperial encampment.

涅魯古中矢墮馬，擒之，重元被傷而退。 Nielugu was struck by an arrow, fell from his horse, and was captured. Chongyuan was wounded and withdrew.

乃背營而陣，乘便奮擊，賊眾奔潰，追殺二十餘里，重元與數騎遁去。 He then drew up his line with the camp at his back, struck hard when the moment favored him, and the rebels broke and fled. The pursuit continued for more than twenty li, and Chongyuan escaped with only a few horsemen.

以平重元之亂，遙授忠正軍節度使，賜定亂功臣，同知殿前點檢司事。 For his part in pacifying Chongyuan's rebellion he was appointed in absentia Military Commissioner of the Zhongzheng Army, granted the title Meritorious Pacifier of Disorder, and made co-administrator of the Palace Front Inspection Office.
