父阿吉斯，康熙間討噶爾丹，以員外郎從軍，中道糧匱，兵苦飢。 His father Ajisi had served as a vice director on the campaign against Galdan in the Kangxi reign. When provisions ran out midway, the troops were left starving.

阿吉斯言於眾曰：「我等官兵世受國恩，甘斃道路。 Ajisi addressed the troops, saying, "We officers and soldiers have received the dynasty's grace for generations and are ready to die on the march.
