及成汭敗於鄂州，匡凝表其弟匡明為荊南留後。 After Cheng Rui fell at Ezhou, Kuangning had his brother Kuangming made acting Jingnan commissioner.

匡明亦謀奔淮南，子承規諫曰：「昔諸葛兄弟分仕二國，若適揚州，是自取疑也。」 Kuangming meant to flee to Huainan; his son Chenggui warned, "Like the Zhuge brothers serving rival states, going to Yangzhou would invite suspicion."

匡明謂然，乃趨成都。 Kuangming agreed and fled to Chengdu instead.

匡凝弟匡明，字讚堯，幼以父貴，一子出身，為江陵府文學。 His brother Kuangming, styled Zanyao, entered office young as a literary officer at Jiangling through their father's rank.

匡明領兵逐之，遂鎮於渚宮。 Kuangming drove them off and held court at Zhugong.

匡明懼，乃舉族上峽奔蜀，王建待以賓禮。 Kuangming fled upriver to Shu with his clan; Wang Jian received him as an honored guest.

當唐之末，襄州趙匡凝襲破雷彥恭於荊南，以其弟匡明為留後。 Near the end of Tang, Zhao Kuangning of Xiang Prefecture surprised and defeated Lei Yangong in Jingnan, then installed his younger brother Kuangming as acting governor.

梁兵攻破襄州，匡凝奔於吳，匡明奔於蜀，乃以季興為荊南節度觀察留後。 When Liang forces took Xiang Prefecture, Kuangning fled to Wu and Kuangming to Shu. Jixing was then appointed acting military governor and surveillance commissioner of Jingnan.
