雲南自總督潘鐸被戕，巡撫徐之銘結回酋以自保，張凱嵩繼署總督，久不至，以規避黜，命崇光代之。 Since Governor-General Pan Duo was assassinated in Yunnan, Governor Xu Zhiming had allied with Muslim chieftains for self-protection; Zhang Kaisong succeeded as acting governor-general but long failed to arrive and was dismissed for evasion; Chongguang was ordered to replace him.
