嘗於殿內講《孝經》，臨川靖惠王、尚書令沈約備二傅，勉與國子祭酒張充爲執經，王瑩、張稷、柳憕、王暕爲侍講。 Once, in the palace hall, he lectured on the "Classic of Filial Piety." The King of Linchuan, King Jinghui, and Director of the Secretariat Shen Yue served as the two tutors; Mian and Libationer Zhang Chong held the text; Wang Ying, Zhang Ji, Liu Cong, and Wang Yan served as lecturing attendants.

復以禮儀深廣，記載殘缺，宜須博論，共盡其致，更使鎮軍將軍丹陽尹沈約、太常卿張充及臣三人同參厥務。 Because ritual propriety was vast in scope and the surviving records were fragmentary, broad deliberation was needed to exhaust its full meaning. Shen Yue, General Who Pacifies the Army and Intendant of Danyang; Zhang Chong, Director of the Court of Imperial Sacrifices; and your subject — the three of us — were further appointed jointly to oversee the work.
