宣帝時，陰子方者，至孝有仁恩，臘日晨炊而竈神形見，子方再拜受慶。 Under Emperor Xuan, Yin Zifang was famously filial. On the la festival he lit the kitchen fire at dawn, the stove god appeared, and Zifang bowed twice to receive its blessing.

子方常言『我子孫必將強大』，至識三世而遂繁昌，故後常以臘日祀竈，而薦黃羊焉。 Zifang used to say, 'My descendants will grow powerful'—and by Yin Shi's generation, three lines later, the clan had indeed flourished. Hence the custom of sacrificing a yellow sheep to the stove on the la day.
