庚午，圍薛永宗營壘。 On gengwu day he besieged Xue Yongzong's camp.

永宗出戰，大敗，六軍乘之，永宗眾潰，斬永宗，男女無少長皆赴汾水而死。 Yongzong gave battle and was routed; the Six Armies pressed the attack, his forces broke, and he was beheaded; men and women of every age threw themselves into the Fen River and drowned.
