屬周武遭太后喪，詔侍中薛孤、康買等為弔使，又遣商胡齎錦彩三萬疋與使同往，欲市真珠為皇后造七寶車，周人不與交易，然而竟造焉。 When Emperor Wu of Zhou was in mourning for his mother, envoys Xue Gu and Kang Mai were sent as condolence missions; merchant envoys carried thirty thousand bolts of brocade to buy pearls for a seven-treasure carriage for the empress—the Zhou people refused to trade, yet the carriage was built anyway.
