同治元年，以失察都司陶昌培、知縣許慶鎔營私納賄，降三級調用，命仍以一品頂戴赴貴州按事。 In 1862, for failure to detect battalion commander Tao Changpei and magistrate Xu Qingrong in private corruption and bribe-taking, he was demoted three ranks and transferred, but ordered still to proceed to Guizhou with his first-rank button to investigate affairs.
