都指揮使謝貴、布政使張昺以兵守王宮。 Regional Commander Xie Gui and Administration Commissioner Zhang Bing ringed the palace with troops.

秋七月癸酉，匿壮士端禮門，紿貴、昺入，殺之，遂奪九門。 On guiyou in the seventh month he concealed picked warriors at the Gate of Courteous Rites, drew in Zhang Bing and Xie Gui, killed them, and took the Nine Gates.
