時南院樞密使許王仁先、知北樞密院事趙王耶律乙辛、南府宰相蕭唐古、北院宣徽使蕭韓家奴、北院樞密副使蕭惟信、敦睦宮使耶律良等率宿衛士卒數千人禦之。 At the time Southern Court privy commissioner Prince of Xu Renxian, Yelü Yixin who administered Northern Privy Council affairs, Southern Court chancellor Xiao Tanggu, Northern Court palace commissioner Xiao Hanjianu, Northern Court associate privy commissioner Xiao Weixin, Dunmu Palace commissioner Yelü Liang, and others led several thousand night-guard troops to resist.

蕭惟信、耶律馮家奴並加太子太傅。 Xiao Weixin and Yelü Fengjianu were both promoted Grand Mentor of the Heir Apparent.

蕭惟信，字耶寧，楮特部人。 Xiao Weixin, whose style name was Yening, was a man of the Chute Tribe.

惟信資沈毅，篤誌於學，能辨論。 Weixin was by nature steady and resolute, devoted in his pursuit of learning, and skilled in debate.

惟信輔導以禮。 Weixin guided and instructed him according to ritual propriety.

清寧九年，重元作亂，犯灤河行宮，惟信從耶律仁先破之，賜竭忠定亂功臣。 In the ninth year of the Qingning reign, when Chongyuan rebelled and attacked the traveling palace on the Luan River, Weixin followed Yelu Renxian in defeating him and was granted the title Meritorious in Utter Loyalty and Pacification of Disorder.

樞密使耶律乙辛譖廢太子，中外知其冤，無敢言者，惟信數廷爭，不得復。 The Secretariat Commissioner Yelu Yixin slandered and deposed the crown prince. Within and without the court all knew the prince's innocence, yet none dared speak. Weixin repeatedly argued in court but could not secure his restoration.
