毌將隆
Wujiang Long.
毌將隆字君房，東海蘭陵人也。
Wujiang Long, styled Junfang, came from Lanling in the Eastern Sea.
大司馬車騎將軍王音內領尚書，外典兵馬，踵故選置從事中郎與參謀議，奏請隆為從事中郎，遷諫大夫。
Grand Marshal and Chariot-and-Cavalry General Wang Yin controlled the Masters of Writing within and commanded troops without. Following precedent, he selected staff advisers to participate in counsel and planning, memorialized requesting Long as a staff adviser, and promoted him to Remonstrant Grandee.
成帝末，隆奏封事言：「古老選諸侯入為公卿，以褒功德，宜徵定陶王使在國邸，以填萬方。」
Near the end of Emperor Cheng's reign, Long submitted a sealed memorial saying, "In ancient times, feudal lords were selected to enter court as dukes and ministers, in order to honor merit and virtue. The King of Dingtao should be summoned and made to stay in the state residence, thereby stabilizing all quarters."
其後上竟立定陶王為太子，隆遷翼州牧、穎川太守。
The emperor eventually established the King of Dingtao as crown prince; Long was promoted to Shepherd of Ji Province and Administrator of Yingchuan.
哀帝即位，以高第入為京兆尹，遷執金吾。
When Emperor Ai took the throne, Long entered the capital as Metropolitan Governor on the strength of his top performance rating, then was promoted to Bearer of the Mace.
隆奏曰：「武庫兵器，天下公用，國家武備，繕治造作，皆度大司農錢。
Long memorialized: "The weapons in the arsenal are for public use throughout the realm; they are the state's military equipment. Repairs and manufacture are all paid out of the Grand Minister of Agriculture's funds.
隆奏言賈賤，請更平直。
Long memorialized that the price was too low and requested that a fair value be set.
隆位九卿，既無以匡朝廷之不逮，而反奏請與永信宮爭貴賤之賈，程奏顯言，眾莫不聞。
Long ranks among the Nine Ministers, yet instead of correcting the court's failings, he memorializes to haggle with Yongxin Palace over the price of slave-girls, airing the dispute before everyone.
以隆前有安國之言，左遷為沛郡都尉，遷南郡太守。
Because Long had earlier spoken of securing the state, he was demoted to commandant of Pei Commandery, and later transferred to be administrator of Nan Commandery.
王莽少時，慕與隆交，隆不甚附。
Young Wang Mang courted him; Long kept his distance.
哀帝崩，莽秉政，使大司徒孔光奏隆前為冀州牧治中山馮太后獄冤陷無辜，不宜處位在中土。
When Emperor Ai died and Wang Mang took control of the government, he had Grand Minister over the Masses Kong Guang memorialize that, as former Shepherd of Ji Province, Long had mishandled the case of Empress Dowager Feng of Zhongshan and entrapped innocent people, and therefore should not serve in the central government.
本中謁者令史立、侍御史丁玄自典考之，但與隆連名奏事。
