吳達之，義興人也。 Wu Dazhi was from Yixing.

從祖弟敬伯夫妻荒年被略賣江北，達之有田十畝，貨以贖之，與之同財共宅。 In a famine year his cousin Jingbo and his wife were captured and sold north of the Yangzi. Dazhi sold his ten mu of land to ransom them and shared home and property with them.
