帝以誕日歲歲詔佛老者大論麟德殿，並召岱及趙需、許孟容、韋渠牟講說。 Each year on his birthday the emperor ordered great debates between Buddhists and Daoists in Linde Hall, and summoned Dai together with Zhao Xu, Xu Mengrong, and Wei Qumou to expound.

居七年，韋渠牟薦為給事中、皇太子諸王侍讀。 After seven years Wei Qumou recommended him as attendant in the Palace Secretariat and lecturer to the crown prince and the imperial princes.
