時朝議遷都，朝士家在荊州者，皆不欲遷，唯弘正與僕射王裒言於元帝曰：「若束脩以上諸士大夫微見古今者，知帝王所都本無定處，無所與疑。 At that time the court debated moving the capital. 即於江陵權殯，與王裒、庾信俱入長安，自是蔬食布衣，枯槁骨立，見者莫不哀之。 He then held a temporary burial at Jiangling and, with Wang Pou and Yu Xin, entered Chang'an. From then on he ate vegetables and wore plain cloth, wasting away until he was skin and bone; all who saw him pitied him.
