王克己，延安中部人。 Wang Keji came from Zhongbu in Yan'an.

父伯通歿，克己負土築墳，廬於墓側。 When his father Botong died, Keji carried earth to raise the mound and lived in a hut beside the grave.

貊高縱兵暴掠，縣民皆逃竄，克己獨守墓不去。 When Mo Gao's troops ravaged the county, everyone fled, but Keji alone stayed to guard the grave.

家人呼之避兵，克己曰：「吾誓守墓三年，以報吾親，雖死不可棄也。」 His family called him to flee; Keji said, "I swore to guard this grave for three years to repay my father—even death will not make me leave."
