有人告綸怨望咒詛，帝命黃門侍郎王弘窮治之。 Someone reported that Lun was nursing resentment and practicing curses. The emperor ordered Yellow Gate Attendant Wang Hong to investigate the case thoroughly.

弘見帝方怒，遂希旨奏綸厭蠱惡逆，坐當死。 Seeing the emperor's anger, Hong shaped his findings to please him and reported that Lun had practiced malign sorcery and treason, crimes punishable by death.
