十月，汴人大寇鎮、定，王郜告急於武皇，乃遣嗣昭出師，下太行，擊懷、孟。 In the tenth month the Bian launched a major assault on Zhen and Ding. Wang Gao sent an urgent appeal to the Martial Emperor, who dispatched Sizhao down the Taihang to strike Huai and Meng.

伯父處存鎮義武，卒，三軍推其子郜襲，處直為都知兵馬使。 His uncle Chucun had governed Yiwu; when he died the army installed his son Gao as successor, with Chuzhi as director of military affairs.

光化三年，梁王朱全忠攻定州，郜遣處直拒於沙河。 In the third year of Guanghua, Zhu Quanzhong of Liang attacked Dingzhou; Gao sent Chuzhi to resist him at Shahe.

兵敗，入城逐郜，郜奔太原。 Defeated in battle, they entered the city and drove Gao out; he fled to Taiyuan.

初，郜之亡也，郁從之。 When Gao first fled, Yu went with him.
