辛巳，殿直王班使於契丹，至於鄴都，不得進而復。 On xinsi Wang Ban of the Palace Attendants was sent to the Khitan; at Ye he found the road blocked and turned back.

至出帝立，使者旁午不絕，不可勝數，故其官卑者皆略而不書，班以不得進，故書。 After the Fleeing Emperor took the throne, envoys came and went incessantly, too many to count, so those of low rank are generally omitted. Wang Ban is recorded because he was unable to proceed.
