睿親王攝政，譚泰與巴牙喇纛章京圖賴、啟心郎索尼並見信任。 Under Prince Rui's regency Tan Tai, together with Tulai, chief of the bayara guard, and Sonin the investigatory secretary, all enjoyed the prince's trust.

譚泰匿諭旨不以示眾，索尼發其罪，降世職昂邦章京，奪官。 Tan Tai withheld the edict from the assembly; when Sonin exposed him he was reduced to angbang banner colonel and dismissed.

譚泰怨索尼，訐索尼於內庫牧馬鼓琴及禁門橋下捕魚，索尼亦坐黜。 Tan Tai turned on Sonin, accusing him of grazing horses and playing music in the inner storehouse and fishing under the palace bridge; Sonin was removed as well.

圖賴書告索尼，使啟睿親王，或發觀之，懼譚泰得罪，毀其書勿使達索尼。 Tulai wrote Sonin to raise it with Prince Rui; someone who saw the letter, fearing for Tan Tai, destroyed it before it reached Sonin.

圖賴師還，詰索尼，發其事，王鞫齎書者，得狀。 On Tulai's return he pressed Sonin; the matter surfaced; Prince Rui examined the messenger and learned the truth.

時圖賴已卒，索尼方罪廢，譚泰毀圖賴墓室，洩舊忿。 Tulai was dead and Sonin had just been disgraced; Tan Tai wrecked Tulai's tomb, settling an old score.

譚泰訐索尼，引冷僧機為證，謝未聞，坐徇庇，當削世職籍沒，上貰之。 When Tan Tai denounced Sonin and called Leng Sengji as witness, he pleaded ignorance; though liable to lose rank and estate for favoritism, the emperor spared him.
