同治二年，降捻宋景詩由陝西還擾直隸、山東，拯奏言：「景詩岡屯磚圩，儼然嵎固，自陝逸回，其黨不過數百。 In the second year of Tongzhi (1863), the surrendered Nian leader Song Jingshi came back from Shaanxi to raid Zhili and Shandong. 已革參將宋景詩引降眾屯東昌，复叛，飭按察使丁寶楨討之。 The dismissed deputy general Song Jingshi had led surrendered troops to encamp at Dongchang and rebelled again; Jingming ordered provincial judicial commissioner Ding Baozhen to suppress him.

景詩竄莘，敬銘檄軍防運河，令之曰：「使一匪潛渡者，殺無赦！」 Jingshi fled to Shen. Jingming ordered troops to guard the Grand Canal and instructed them: "If even a single bandit slips across in secret, execute without mercy!"

同治元年，欽差勝保被逮，多隆河代領其軍，多所裁撤，部將宋景詩复叛。 In the first year of the Tongzhi reign (1862), the imperial commissioner Sheng Bao was arrested. Duolong'a took command of his forces and carried out extensive cuts and dismissals, whereupon his subordinate Song Jingshi rebelled once again.
