及即位，疑毅，使騎劫代將。 After he came to the throne, he distrusted Yue Yi and sent Qi Jie to replace him in command.

齊田單以即墨擊敗燕軍，騎劫死，燕兵引歸，齊悉復得其故城。 Tian Dan of Qi used Jimo as his base to defeat the Yan army. Qi Jie died, the Yan troops withdrew, and Qi recovered all its former cities.

於是燕惠王固已疑樂毅，得齊反閒，乃使騎劫代將，而召樂毅。 Thus, King Hui of Yan was already suspicious of Yue Yi, got Qi's reverse rumors, then sent Qi Jie to replace the general, and summoned Yue Yi.

齊田單後與騎劫戰，果設詐誑燕軍，遂破騎劫於即墨下，而轉戰逐燕，北至河上，盡復得齊城，而迎襄王於莒，入于臨菑。 Later, Qi's Tian Dan fought Qi Jie and set a trap to deceive the Yan army. He defeated Qi Jie below Jimo, turned the battle around, and drove Yan north to the river. He recovered all Qi cities, welcomed King Xiang at Ju, and entered Linzi.

燕惠王後悔使騎劫代樂毅，以故破軍亡將失齊； King Hui of Yan later regretted sending Qi Jie to replace Yue Yi, for the decision had ruined the army, cost him his generals, and lost Yan its gains in Qi;

寡人之使騎劫代將軍，為將軍久暴露於外，故召將軍且休，計事。 I sent Qi Jie to replace you only because you had long been exposed in the field; I meant to recall you for rest and consultation.

燕王以為然，使騎劫代樂毅。 The King of Yan believed the rumor and sent Qi Jie to replace Yue Yi.

田單又收民金，得千溢，令即墨富豪遺燕將，曰：「即墨即降，願無虜掠吾族家妻妾，令安堵。」 Tian Dan also collected gold from the people, amassing a thousand yi, and had the wealthy merchants of Jimo deliver it to the Yan general with the message: "Jimo is about to surrender. We beg only that you not plunder the families, wives, and concubines of our clans, but let them dwell in peace."

燕將大喜，許之。 The Yan general was overjoyed and agreed to their terms.

齊人遂夷殺其將騎劫。 The men of Qi pursued and slew the Yan general Qi Jie.
