父偃，尚梁武帝女長城公主，拜駙馬都尉，大寶中，為鄱陽太守，卒官。 Her father Yan married Princess Changcheng, daughter of Emperor Wu of Liang, and was made commandant of imperial sons-in-law. During Dabao he served as administrator of Poyang and died in office.

侯景之亂，后與弟盼往江陵依梁元帝，元帝以長城公主之故，待遇甚厚。 During Hou Jing's rebellion, the empress and her younger brother Pan went to Jiangling to seek refuge with Emperor Yuan of Liang. Because of Princess Changcheng, Emperor Yuan treated them with great favor.
