順治初，英親王徇湖廣，薦為提學僉事，遷永州道參議。 In the early Shunzhi period, when the Prince of Ying led troops through Huguang, Peng was recommended as educational intendant and soon promoted to assistant administrator of Yongzhou Circuit.
