河東姚氏女字女勝，少喪父，無兄弟，母憐而守養。 The daughter of the Yao clan of Hedong, styled Nüsheng, lost her father in childhood; having no brothers, her mother kept and reared her alone.

正光中，母死，女勝年十五，哭泣不絕聲，水漿不入口者數日，不勝哀，遂死。 During the Zhengguang era her mother died; Nüsheng was fifteen and wept without cease, taking no food or water for days; overcome by grief, she died.
