昔者九侯、鄂侯、文王，紂之三公也。 In ancient times, the Marquis of Jiu, the Marquis of E, and King Wen were the three high ministers of the tyrant Zhou.

九侯有子而好，獻之於紂，紂以為惡，醢九侯。 The Marquis of Jiu had a beautiful daughter whom he presented to Zhou, but Zhou found her displeasing and had the Marquis made into mincemeat.
