太尉不奉詔，堅壁不出，而使輕騎兵弓高侯等絕吳楚兵後食道。 The Grand Commandant declined to obey the decree. He held his entrenchments and refused to sally forth, but sent the Marquis of Gonggao with light cavalry to sever the supply lines behind the Wu and Chu forces.
