許丞老，病聾，督郵白欲逐之，霸曰：「許丞廉吏，雖老，尚能拜起送迎，正頗重聽，何傷？ County magistrate Xu was old and going deaf. The touring inspector wanted him dismissed, but Huang Ba replied: "Xu is an honest man. He can still rise and bow and manage formalities; he is merely hard of hearing—what is wrong with that?
