與李道殷、羅隱之友善，時人目為「三高士」。 He was on friendly terms with Li Daoyin and Luo Yinzhi, and people of the time regarded them as the "Three High Recluses."

與羅隱之朝夕遊處，隱之以藥術取利，雲叟以山田自給，俱好酒能詩，善長嘯。 He spent his days with Luo Yinzhi, who made a living through pharmaceutical arts while Yunsou supported himself from hillside fields. Both loved wine, wrote poetry well, and were skilled at long whistling.

羅曰：「醉卻隱之、雲叟外，不知何處是天真。」 Luo said, "When drunk, apart from Yinzhi and Yunsou, I no longer know where true innocence lies."

與道士李道殷、羅隱之友善，世目以為三高士。 He befriended the Daoist Li Daoyin and Luo Yinzhi; the age called them the Three High Recluses.

遨種田，隱之賣藥以自給，道殷有釣魚術，鉤而不餌，又能化石為金，遨嘗驗其信然，而不之求也。 Ao farmed; Yin sold herbs; Daoyin fished with hook but no bait and could turn stone to gold—Ao proved it true yet never asked.
