博士呂朋龜奏：「謹按禮經，臣不誄君，稱天以謚之，是以本朝故事，命太尉率百僚奉謚冊告天於圜丘，回讀於靈座前，並在七月之內，謚冊入陵。 Erudite Lü Penggui memorialized: "According to the ritual classics, subjects do not bestow posthumous titles on their lord; Heaven is invoked to confer the title. Thus our dynasty orders the Grand Commandant to lead the hundred officials in presenting the posthumous tablet to Heaven at the Round Mound, returning to read it before the spirit seat—all within the seventh month, and the tablet enters the tomb.
