先是，下刲翟公為廷尉，賓客亦填門，及廢，門外可設爵羅。 Long before, Lord Zhai of Xiagui served as commandant of justice with a crowded gate; once dismissed, sparrows could nest outside his door—so empty was it.

後復為廷尉，客欲往，翟公大署其門，曰：「一死一生，乃知交情； When he was reappointed, old friends crept back; Lord Zhai chalked a couplet on his gate: "Friendship shows its depth only between death and life;
