十六年，母亡，報之以疾，曄不時奔赴，及行，又攜妓妾自隨，為御史中丞劉損所奏，太祖愛其才，不罪也。 In the sixteenth year, she died. Her death was reported to Ye as an illness, but he did not promptly hurry to her side; when he finally set out, he even brought singing girls and concubines with him. Liu Sun, Palace Aide to the Censor-in-Chief, impeached him, but Taizu valued his talent and did not punish him.
