旋以保獎已革知府潘駿群被議，又以失察編修林國柱預報起復，被劾褫職，降道員。 He was soon censured for recommending the dismissed prefect Pan Junqun for reward and impeached for failing to detect that compiler Lin Guozhu had tipped off his own recall; stripped of office, he was demoted to circuit intendant.
