父少康，宋州刺史。 His father Shaokang had served as prefect of Songzhou.

涵判官殿中侍御史呂渭上言：「涵父名少康，今官名犯諱，恐乖禮典。」 Han's aide, palace censor Lü Wei, memorialized: "His father's name is Shaokang, yet his present title violates that taboo. This may offend ritual propriety."
