帝怒甚，執纛下，左右猶冀少貸，金吾將軍李邈遽傳詔斬之。 The emperor was furious. Shao was seized below the banner, and those nearby still hoped for some leniency, but Golden Crow General Li Miao immediately transmitted the execution order and had him beheaded.

時深咎邈，帝亦悔，俄詔罷邈官，擯於家。 Many blamed Li Miao severely. The emperor himself soon regretted the affair and shortly dismissed Miao from office, banishing him to his home.
