李渾，字季初，趙郡栢人人也。 Li Hun, styled Jichu, was a man of Bairen in Zhao commandery.

渾以父死王事，除給事中。 Because his father died in the prince's service, Hun was appointed attendant within the yellow gates.

詔渾為征東將軍、都官尚書，行臺赴援。 An edict appointed Hun general of the eastern campaign and director of the ministry of justice, with mobile headquarters to go to the rescue.

渾曰：「社客賊之根本，圍城復逾晦朔。 Hun said, "Sheke is the root of the rebels; the siege has already passed a full month.

諸將遲疑，渾乃決行。 The generals hesitated; Hun decided to proceed anyway.

世宗使武士提以入，渾抗言曰：「將軍今日猶自禮賢耶？」 Gao Cheng had warriors seize and bring him in; Hun spoke up boldly, "Does the general still treat the worthy with courtesy today?"

渾督勵將士，捕斬渠帥。 Hun urged on his officers and soldiers and captured and beheaded the ringleaders.

渾妾郭氏在州干政納貨，坐免官。 Hun's concubine Lady Guo meddled in government at the prefecture and took bribes; on that charge he was dismissed from office.

渾與弟繪、緯俱為聘梁使主，湛又為使副，是以趙郡人士，目為四使之門。 Hun and his brothers Hui and Wei had all been chief envoys on missions to Liang; Zhan again served as deputy envoy — hence men of Zhao commandery called them the Gate of Four Envoys.

公緒，字穆叔，渾族兄籍之子。 Gongxu, styled Mushu, was the son of Ji, Hun's clansman on the elder-brother line.

卒後，殯於家園，友人常景、李渾、王元景、盧元明、魏季景、李騫等十許人於墓傍置酒設祭，哀哭涕泣，一飲一酹曰：「裴中書魂而有靈，知吾曹也。」 After his death he was buried in the family estate; some ten friends, including Chang Jing, Li Hun, Wang Yuanjing, Lu Yuanming, Wei Jijing, and Li Qian, set out wine and offerings beside the tomb, weeping as they drank and poured libations, saying, "Vice Director Pei, if your spirit hears us, know that we are here."
