燕王命相栗腹約歡趙，以五百金為趙王酒。 The Yan king ordered the prime minister Li Fu to make an alliance with Zhao, using five hundred pieces of gold to buy wine for the King of Zhao.

卒起二軍，車二千乘，栗腹將而攻鄗，卿秦攻代。 He finally raised two armies with two thousand chariots. Li Fu led one and attacked Hao, while Qing Qin attacked Dai.

燕軍至宋子，趙使廉頗將，擊破栗腹於鄗。 The Yan army reached Songzi. Zhao sent Lian Po as general, and he attacked and defeated Li Fu at Hao.

樂閒居燕三十餘年，燕王喜用其相栗腹之計，欲攻趙，而問昌國君樂閒。 Yue Xian dwelt in Yan for more than thirty years; King Xi of Yan employed his chancellor Li Fu's plan, wished to attack Zhao, and questioned Lord of Changguo Yue Xian.

趙使廉頗擊之，大破栗腹之軍於鄗，禽栗腹、樂乘。 Zhao sent Lian Po to attack them, greatly broke Li Fu's army at Hao, captured Li Fu and Yue Cheng.

自邯鄲圍解五年，而燕用栗腹之謀，曰「趙壯者盡於長平，其孤未壯」，舉兵擊趙。 Five years after the siege of Handan was lifted, Yan adopted Li Fu's counsel: "Zhao's fighting men were spent at Changping, and their orphaned sons are not yet grown." Yan then raised troops to attack Zhao.

趙使廉頗將，擊，大破燕軍於鄗，殺栗腹，遂圍燕。 Zhao sent Lian Po as general. He attacked, routed the Yan army at Hao, killed Li Fu, and surrounded Yan.

Li Fu led a hundred thousand troops only to suffer five defeats abroad, and a state of ten thousand chariots has been besieged by Zhao. Its territory has been carved away and its lord humiliated, making it a laughingstock of the realm.
