遷洛州司馬，會譙王重福之變，官司逃，日知獨率吏卒助屯營擊賊，以功加銀青光祿大夫。 Made military adjutant of Luo, he alone rallied clerks and troops when Prince Qiao Chongfu rebelled and officials fled, aiding the garrison against the rebels; for this he received the honorary title Silver-Green Glory Grand Master.
